Don’t Leave Your Theory Test Too Late!
It's common for people to delay their theory test, which can result in wasted time and money keeping their driving skills test-ready. To avoid this, your first step when learning to drive should always be your theory test preparation.
Passing your theory test early not only speeds up the process of getting your license but also provides essential knowledge that will help during your driving lessons. Understanding road signs, rules, and hazard perception makes you a safer, more confident driver from day one.
To help you revise, there are plenty of resources available, including books, videos, and other materials to support your preparation.

How to Book Your Theory Test and What It Entails
Booking your theory test is simple. You can do it online through the official DVSA website:
The test consists of two parts:
Multiple-Choice Questions: Covering essential driving topics such as:
Alertness, Attitude, Road and traffic signs, Rules of the road, Safety and your vehicle, Hazard awareness, Vulnerable road users And more...
Hazard Perception Test: In this part of the test, you'll watch 14 video clips, each from a driver’s point of view. Your task is to spot developing hazards that would require you, as the driver, to take action (such as changing speed or direction). For example, if a car pulls over ahead of you, you might need to slow down or maneuver around it.
The test checks your ability to recognize and respond to potential hazards on the road. Practicing with your driving instructor on real roads is an excellent way to prepare for this section.
You must pass both sections to move forward with your practical driving test.
